I have a 2 1/2 ton WaterFurnace geothermal unit that the coaxial coil developed
a leak possibly due to acidic well water. Anyway the contractor
is charging me $2046 to replace this coil! I think these coils go for
around $500. I think $2000 is outrageous.
Any thoughts?

I just looked up my cost for replacement of the Coaxe coil this past year (Aug06) $986.00 I also had the evaporater replaced before that (6-06) for $725.00 Now they're saying the compresser is bad. Today is Aug 26,07 I'm thinking of adding a addition room on my house for the service person to stay at so I wont get all the in and out charges. I have no idea what a compresser will cost, but would like to know.
