Hello all....

I had a TRANE high effecency dual stage furnace installed in my house last year...

When the installation was done, I had the exhaust vented outside, but the intake for the furnace was left inside the house...

Is this a valid installation, or should the furnace intake also be outside.

(I was told that there was enough room around the furnace that it didn't matter)

it should be able to draw air from the outside, so as not to use the air inside for combustion. this also helps by not drawing air from outside through cracks around doors and windows. i would think that is why the mfg. recommends air to be drawn from outside.
